Jen
Office Manager
As the daughter of Dr. Joe Valese, Jen has quite literally grown up in the Animal Hospital of Mt. Pocono. She couldn’t help but fall in love with the veterinary profession from day one! Jen takes a great amount of pride in helping to make her family’s business grow and run smoothly every day.

Jen grew up here in the Poconos and first began lending a hand at the clinic when she was just a young girl. Throughout high school, she put in hours part-time, then began as a full-time employee in January of 2006 after graduating from Penn State University. As the hospital’s Office Manager, Jen does a lot of work behind the scenes; she loves maintaining orders and inventory, managing the clinic’s social media presence, and monitoring and measuring the hospital’s growth. She’s particularly passionate about developing a fear-free practice to allow pets to remain as calm as possible during office visits.

Jen has two cats of her own at home. Maui rules the household and Jonesy is a scaredy-cat through and through, except when it comes to belly rubs from his mom!

In her time away from the hospital, Jen loves outdoor activities. She’s an avid skier in the winter, and loves fishing, boating, and hiking in the wilderness during the warmer months.
Kelly
Receptionist
Kelly has always considered herself a people person, and she adores spending time around animals. What better place to work, she thought, than in an animal clinic? She’s been serving the pet owners of the area as one of the Animal Hospital of Mt. Pocono’s veterinary receptionists for nine years.

Kelly is a native of the Poconos and first started working here at the clinic shortly after she’d had her son. Her favorite part of every day is meeting the community’s pet lovers, and she strives to do everything in her power to help pets and their owners feel comfortable. Kelly never passes up the opportunity to hear a fun pet story!

Kelly and her husband, Bill, have four children—Ashlee, Karissa, Kayla, and Zachary—as well as an elderly cat named Roni and a dog named Fergie. As a family, they enjoy spending time outdoors, visiting amusement parks, watching movies, and playing games together. Kelly is also a baseball coach for the local six- to eight-year-old division, and finds that she learns just as much from her team as they do from her!
Amy
Receptionist
Amy has been helping others for her entire professional life, including in the medical world for many years. When the time came for a career change, she had a thought: why not couple her passion for bettering the lives of other people with her lifelong love for animals? That’s when Amy decided to join the world of veterinary medicine.

Amy is originally from the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania area and lived in Baltimore, Maryland as a teenager before moving back to her home state. She was only 18 when she took a first-responder and CPR class, marking her entrance into the world of healthcare. Amy continued her education in Pennsylvania to become a certified Emergency Medical Technician, just months before having her first child, and continued to work part-time as an EMT for the next 10 years.

While raising her three kids, Amy owned and operated a private child-care business out of her home. Once her kids entered school, she became a school bus driver and instructor for three years. When the time came for a change, she came across an opening here at the Animal Hospital of Mt. Pocono—Amy gladly accepted a position as a member of the front-desk team, and has been helping the animal parents and pets of the area ever since!

When she isn’t at work, Amy likes gardening, visiting amusement parks, exploring abandoned and historical places around the state, and spending time with her family and pets. Along with her fiancé and children, Amy shares her home with three loveable cats: Lucy, a calico who likes sleeping and watching the squirrels; an orange tabby named Rocko who guards the house all day long; and a small black cat with a mischievous streak named Morticia.
